Francis Caddick

Captain Francis Arthur Caddick was a minor scholastic’s at Malvern and became a Chartered Accountant.

He joined the HAC in 1909, and rose through the ranks of the infantry battalion: in 1911 was posted as a Lance Corporal in No. 8 Squad, No. 4 Company, HAC-Infantry Battalion. In 1913 he was a Corporal in No. 8 Squad, “D” Company, HAC Infantry Company. He was commissioned in 1916. He served in the Great War with the AOD and was made Captain in 1918. He was Mentioned in Dispatches.

He was initiated in the HAC’s lodge, Fitzroy Lodge No 569, which still maintains strong links with the Old Malvernians today.
