Lt Colonel Howard Percy Jones was a School Prefect and capped for both football and cricket at Malvern. He was an Insurance Broker at Lloyd’s.
He was commissioned into the Territorial 1st City of London Battery, 1st London Brigade in 1908. He served throughout the Great War rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was made DSO in 1917.
He was initiated into the Old Malvernian Lodge’s sister lodge, Cornhill Lodge No 1803. He also joined Lutine Lodge No 3049, the lodge associated with Lloyd’s and now called Fidentia et Lutine Lodge No 6272, and Loddon Lodge No 3427 in Berkshire.
