Captain Henry Albert Gartside Neville MC was a member of the Stock Exchange who enlisted in the East Kent Regiment on the outbreak of war and was commissioned into the Prince of Wales’s Own West Yorkshire Regiment and went on the win the MC and be promoted Captain and Adjutant.
He was a keen runner, winning the Ledbury and the senior steeplechase for two years in succession at Malvern.
He was initiated into the Apollo whilst up at Oxford.
Henry’s grandfather was Henry Gartside Neville the actor and theatre producer.
