Joseph Shaw was a School Prefect and both a cricket and football cap. He went up to Trinity College, Cambridge before becoming a barrister.
He was initiated in the Churchill Lodge No 478, a lodge for senior members of Oxford University and later joined Westminster & Keystone Lodge No 10.
