George Stafford Robertson was born in Dublin and returned to Trinity College Dublin after Malvern. He read engineering before becoming a civil engineer.
He went to India started his career as the Resident Engineer in Sulina on the Indian Railways.
He was initiated into Lodge Independence with Philanthropy No 391 in Allahabad, which was transferred “to the Grand Lodge of India on its formation on 24 November 1961 to become Lodge of Independence with Philanthropy No 2 under the District Grand Lodge of Bengal”.*
He was a member of the RAC.
He was the brother of fellow founder the Reverend Michael William Robertson.
